26 Nov Pete Carroll excited for the return of Neiko Thorpe
Seattle Seahawks defensive back and special teams extraordinaire Neiko Thorpe missed Seattle’s last four games with a groin injury. His return this week has coach Pete Carroll fired up, and not just because of what he brings on the field.
“It’s great to have Neiko back,” Carroll stated after Friday’s practice, where Thorpe was a full participant. “Neiko’s been a leader, particularly in special teams, since he arrived. His attitude and the personality that he brings, the effort and the playmaking has always been outstanding. We love getting him back.”
Thorpe played in each of Seattle’s first six games, recording three total tackles. He has been out since then with a groin injury, ceding his special teams role to fellow defensive backs Akeem King and Shalom Luani.
